On Wednesday 13th December 2022, Wright Hassall hosted an important Made Masterclass for Made in Group members, titled “What To Do When the Health & Safety Inspector Calls”.

James Lowe, Wright Hassall’s Regulatory Partner, looked at what happens when a workplace accident takes place in the manufacturing sector.

A Patron of Made in the Midlands, are one of the largest independent law firms in the West Midlands with over 250 people operating from a single site in Leamington Spa. Made in Group patrons are appointed organisations that share expert best practice information with manufacturing businesses.

This virtual event focused on health and safety investigations by the Health and Safety Executive. Through the use of a short case study, James’ presentation looked at:

- The incident

- The regulator’s response

-Its powers to investigate and take enforcement action

-How manufacturers should react to best protect themselves following the incident

Members of Made in Group - composed of Made in the Midlands of Made in Yorkshire - also had the opportunity to interact with James and ask any questions at the end.
